I stayed over at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler last night to celebrate Amber’s birthday with her and Athena – girls trip!
The Chateau even treated us to some bubbly! Thank you Fairmont!
We spent the morning lounging by the Fairmont pool, building up an appetite.
Normally when I stay at the Chateau I have breakfast at their Wildflower Restaurant, but they stop serving breakfast at 10:30 so we missed out!! Fortunately Portabello restaurant (also in the Fairmont) was open for lunch. The selection of food is great, many different soups, salads, sandwiches, flatbreads and pastries. While we were deciding on our order the restaurant surprised Amber with a birthday nutella brownie, thanks Fairmont!!
I decided on a panini, and was delighted when it came with a side of coleslaw, grainy mustard and pickle. Very tasty.
Athena ordered the roasted veggie flatbread – she said it was probably the best flatbread she’d ever had! High praise!
Amber had fresh baked marble rye toast with an assortment of jams and peanut butter.
The three of us shared an apple fritter – Fairmont Chateau Whistler is famous for their doughnuts and this one did not disappoint!
Amber also let us share her nutella birthday brownie – so delicious!!
I was extremely impressed with the quality of the baked goods at Portobello, everything was so fresh and flavourful. It was also so lovely to sit outside (they have indoor or outdoor seating) and enjoy the warm spring day. Be sure to drop by if you’re looking for well priced casual food Whistler’s Upper Village.
