The Fish Counter

Posted on Posted in Restaurants

I dropped by The Fish Counter on Main Street for lunch today. My mom is visiting this week for Easter, and she doesn’t get a lot of fresh seafood where she’s from (the B.C. interior) so when she visits I like to take her for fresh fish.

Mom got the halibut & chips, a good choice as The Fish Counter has the best fish & chips in Vancouver!

I tried their newest menu item, the Tokyo Taco, which is sockeye salmon belly, ikura, seaweed salad & wasabi mayo on fresh tortillas. So creative and delicious. A fun Japanese twist on a traditional fish taco.

The Fish Counter is great because you can stop in to have a bite to eat, and also go away with fresh fish to cook at home. I had dropped by the day before as well to pick up some fresh halibut to cook for dinner that night.

A friend of mine gave me some chermoula seasoning for Christmas so I used this as an opportunity to test it out.
